Ticks can transmit many different diseases, including Lyme Disease. The doctor will evaluate you for tick exposure and symptoms . Based on the doctor's finding, you may be placed on medication and/or specific blood tests may be ordered to determine a positive (active) Lyme diagnosis. A patient may be referred to a rheumatologist to manage Lyme disease.
